His journey in the Lord began at the at the age of 12. Altheron L. Payne Sr. is the Minister of the Lillie St. Church of Christ. He has been preaching for over 35 years.  He has been preaching at the Lillie St. Church of Christ since 1984.  He has attended numerous Bible study programs and has attended the Southwest Bible Institute located in San Angelo Texas.  Bro. Payne is committed to the excellence of the ministry, he also received training through the sound doctrine program of Doctor Anthony Roach of the Minda St. Church of Christ.  The churches mission statement is "God's People Making A Difference."  Bro. Payne's greatest desire is to spread the gospel of Jesus to a confused and lost society.  Bro. Payne is familiar with the social issues of the times; therefore he is using his God given talent of illustration drawing and book writing to spread the good news in the context of the present crisis today. Our families, marriages and youth are being held hostage, by the progressive, secular and liberal forces of the world.  They are poisoning the minds of  people against God. Bro.
